The Caroline Inn is shown in the distance directly behind the Caroline bridge on the Left of the Image.
All the buildings in view were demolished to make access for the St Aden’s Opencast mine (now a bird sanctuary). A new bridge was built further down as the new navigation was re-channelled.
The building to the centre we believe was a lock keepers house. The building far right we would like to know about if you have any knowledge.
