Miners Welfare Institute
41 Main Street
A domineering mock Tudor civic building from the turn of the 20th century
Known locally as the “Stute” – the Miners Welfare Institute.
Apparently Ladies that fancied a glass of the fine brew at Yelland’s Off – License, their was a bench behind the shop door for anyone that felt like a quiet un-intimidated drink back in the 1950s and 60s.
A very clean clear window for those days and nicely set out.
